This workshop taught is designed to help beginner to intermediate gardeners understand the basics of raised bed agriculture. Participants will learn about the history, benefits, and challenges of gardening with a raised bed. Participants will also be guided through the process of planning, building, and sustaining a raised bed.
Leave with a better understanding of food sovereignty, sovereign people, and food access; knowledge of tool safety; the skills needed to build raised garden beds, as well as connections with other participants in order to build a stronger network of gardeners in Southwest and West Philadelphia.
