Volunteer Plant Recorders Needed
Bartram’s Garden is in search of volunteers to help us keep records about our historic public arboretum. Each volunteer plant recorder will work in a small team, identifying woody plants in a specific section of the landscape at Bartram’s. This is a good job for any dedicated individual with a strong interest in botany and ability to work with Google Sheets who enjoys spending time outside. It is strongly preferred that this volunteer can commit to come and survey their assigned landscape section at least four times throughout the year, can coordinate with team mates to schedule work sessions and can communicate with Bartram’s staff about progress and challenges.
Plant recording at Bartram’s Garden will contribute essential information to a running record of hundreds of years, adding crucial information to the scientific study of climate change and its effect on ecosystems and cultivation of plants. This is part of a project to make our collections more accessible to the public.
Volunteer orientation will be held Wednesday, April 1 at 6:30. Interested in helping out? Please contact
