Family Culture Circle

Join us for a family-friendly gathering where individuals of all ages can experience and have fun with cultural activities related to arts throughout the African Diaspora. Participants will have an opportunity to delve into rich cultural traditions of dance, drumming, storytelling, arts & crafts, and much more!

Culture Ambassador of The Arts, Sistah Mafalda, is a world-renowned and locally known dynamic performing artist of Afro-Caribbean dance, drum, and storytelling. She is also a very energetic stilt walker.

For the Drum, Dance, and Storytelling workshop: Feel free to bring a drum, shaker, or instrument if you’d like. We will also have instruments to share.

For the Mask Making Workshop: Feel free to bring shells, craft items, personal mementos, or any other items you’d like to incorporate into your mask. We will also have plenty of materials to share.

Guests are welcome to register for one or both workshops. We hope you’ll join us for what is sure to be an enriching and fun-filled creative experience!
